Music is changing me???

Last night was the Pride of the Valley's first official performance of our half time show this year. It marked my first official College Performance. Due to rain, our show was not performed 2 weeks ago at our first home football game. Our first performance was an exhibition performance at a local High Schools competition. It was odd to me to be there but know we were not competing. It brought back a lot of memories of my experience with my high school marching band, which helped to explode my love for music even further and provided me with some of my closest friends and greatest memories. Its amazing how music can change everything. For me music has done that. It has changed everything for me, It changed my friends, my experiences, and what I have done with my life. It changed me from an athlete to a musician and helped me to break out of my shell. It has given me experiences of a life time. Experiences I will never forget. I find myself looking back at my high school experience in a much different way then I did just a few months ago. I always had fond memories of the musical experiences Pennridge had provided me but over the last month they have become even more fond. I look back and miss some of the crazy things that would happen, the family that was built within the band. While college bands are family like it is not quite the same because we spend far less time with each other. The falls in high school you were lucky to see anyone that wasn't in the band. Last night helped to me to look back at my high school memories with a very large smile across my face. Realizing my best friends were part of every single one of those moments and some of those moments were the best I can think of to happen in high school. Music has been a huge influence in my life and continues to influence me today and will forever.

A Special Place

It has been way to long since I have written. My senior year has taken over my life! Since I last wrote school has started and Senior year is going much better than Junior year ever did. I love my classes that I am taking of course with exceptions here or there and I am just so thrilled it is my senior year I think I will be able to look past any negative situation in some positive form. Marching band and School are taking up all my free time. There is no time to be messing around, I am at school, doing homework, at a rehearsal, lesson or practicing it seems. So to take a break from the crazy month that it has been my family and I are going to be traveling to our favorite place! We will be spending the weekend in Vermont. For Nothing is Impossible with God!- Luke 1:37

"You are exactly where God wants you to be at   this very moment. Every Experience is part of   his divine plan." This quote has hit home with me the last few days. Its words speak to me. There are so many days when I question why things are happening in my life or why things can't just work out a little bit easier but this quote reminds me that they are working out a little bit easier then I like to think they are. It reminds me that everything I do and all the experiences I go through are part of a bigger plan and a bigger picture. Some experiences I never question because they are fun and don't bring me any emotional upset or pain. It's when the difficult experiences come that I begin to forget this quote. I begin to forget what my life really is about. It is not just that bad experience that defines me. There is so much more that defines me and my life.
