Today I am starting a 30 day challenge that I found. This challenge is meant to be done in a journal. I have a journal that I do many things in but I felt that this could be a good 'challenge' for me to complete here on my blog sharing the inspiration that I find over the next 30 days through the prompts that have been given and the prompts that I may come up with on my own. I feel that now is the perfect time to do this challenge because of the many things I am preparing to do in relationship to sharing my story and sharing the inspiration that I have found each day in my life. In 30 days I will be sharing my story to empower parents and students to take actions to address depression, anxiety and mental illnesses of many types. Life is beautiful! In the morning you can take in a breath of fresh air and start a new day and a new happy experience. Life is an open book ready to be written in and the author is you. The author has the ability to write the book how ever they want. It can be an adventure book, a horror, a comedy, a tragedy, a novel or a sad book. Its all up to the author on how its written. There are so many things in life to be thankful and grateful for and ready to take life by the horns and live it. It’s such a beautiful thing. This is my first post in what I hope to be a list of many. I want to share with you what it is like to live in a family that is deeply affected by a disease called Alpha-1. Alpha-1 is a genetic disorder that causes lung and liver disease in people of all ages. (For more information please visit http://www.alpha-1foundation.org/ ) My dad was diagnosed with the disease 2 years ago after many years of struggling to find answers. The disease has caused a physical and emotional strain on my family and many others through out the world. Alpha-1 is widely miss-diagnosed and when I tell most people that my dad has a genetic disorder called Alpha-1 they look at me as if I were an alien from mars.
