Boy have things changed!

WOW! Everything in my life has been turned around and upside down since I last wrote in May. Where to begin is the next questions. What should  I start with. Well my summer has been filled with excitement and new experiences. Experiences of a life time that's for sure. I graduated High School this past June which for me was bitter sweet as I am sure it is for most people, but looking back it was a much needed event in my life. It was a chance to finally close the chapter of high school which hadn't been the best of times. Alot happened in high school, alot of good and bad. I grew into a whole new person and looking back now, I don't think I like the person that went into high school but with the changes in the last 4 years I like the person who came out much more. Once graduation was over my summer hit the ground running. The week after graduation my friends and I took a trip to the beach for "Senior Week" which in our case was more like senior 3 days. No matter the amount of time we were there we had a great time and cherished our last trip together before heading off to college. I returned from my fun times in the sun to once again pack up my bags and head on another adventure. This time with my family. As my graduation present from my parents we went to California for 2 weeks for vacation. It was a great chance to have a family vacation which sometimes prove themselves to be difficult with Dad's situation, but we worked it out and had a fantastic time.
Traveling was different, we never had flown in an air plane with oxygen, medicine and all the things that Dad had to take with him. It was a new experience for all of us and although it was stressful at times I wouldn't have missed this trip for the world. It was a chance to become closer again, to work together as a family to achieve all that we wanted to. Since Dad has been diagnosed we haven't taken any large trips and after 4 years it was time. Not only was it time but it was needed, for all of us. It helped us to put some of the stresses at home behind us for a little and just enjoy every moment we have together. We got to see LA, San Fransisco, Disney Land, Yosemite National Park, and a variety of other sights along the way. It was a fantastic trip that will not be forgotten. Upon our return it was time for me to pack my bags yet again but this time for 3 week to go to the Czech Republic. This was my first time in Europe, it is something I will cherish and remember forever. I went to Prague with my flute teacher and 2 other students from her studio, to the Ameropa Music festival. Not only did we have a great time making music but we also go to see one of the must beautiful cities in the world. I highly recommend to anyone that gets a chance to travel to Prague. It truly is amazing and of course it helps when you travel with Amazing people who you can have a great time with. Before leaving I did have some apprehensions. I was concerned about leaving a chronically ill father for 3 weeks and being an ocean away, but I knew he wouldn't have let me use that as an excuse not to go so I sucked it up and went despite my fears, and by am I glad I did. It was the opportunity of a life time and helped me to break out of my shell. It allowed me to work with amazing musicians and meet amazing people. My time in Prague will never be forgotten and I miss the beautiful city and people everyday. After returning from my 3 week adventure in Europe it was time to get ready for school, and here I am sitting in my dorm room, loving life, loving college, and loving everything life has to offer. I left for Lebanon Valley College once again with apprehensions about leaving an ill parent but knowing this time I was only a 2 hour drive away. It calmed my fears some, knowing I was closer but there is still that slight hint of fear in the back of my mind, of not being home, of not being there, but as Dad always says, Go live your life. And that is what I am doing, living my life, experiencing new things, and loving my time here at LVC. I promise to write again soon!!
