The First Few Days

Day 1 – Write “I Love Me” somewhere, anywhere. On your skin, on your notebook, on your wall, in your journal, on a bathroom stall, in skywriting.

For day 1 I decided to write this in my teaching planners so every day as I open it to begin my day I will see this and be reminded to love myself fully.

Day 2 – Practice self care in the form of pampering. Not all self care is decadent, but today it will be! Take a bubble bath, give yourself a pedicure, or get a massage!

For day 2 I spent most of my day at School in my classroom preparing for the upcoming beginning of school. As I was leaving  school I decided to stop at a Panera to indulge in a cinnamon roll and green tea. I love Panera cinnamon rolls and decided it was a little piece of love for myself after 8 hours in my classroom. I loved every moment of that cinnamon roll and tea.

Day 3 – Make a list of things you’re grateful for having in your life. Think of things you’re lucky enough to have and experience.

As for today here is my list of things I am grateful for and am lucky enough to have and experience. This is a short list otherwise this post could go on forever.

  • Love from family, friends, church family, students, and so many others. I am blessed and surrounded by so much love  at all times.
  • Support in my dreams and endeavors, triumphs and failures, from an expansive support system from my parents, friends, extended family, and so many other.
  • A classroom to call my own. After wanting to be a teacher for nearly 16 years now I finally have a classroom to call my own. How lucky am I to be able to fulfill a childhood dream of mine every day when I go to 'work'.
  • A roof over my head, with food to eat, and water to drink right at my finger tips. Often we take this so for granted but there are so many people in this world that would love to have those three things that most of us here consider to be simple.
  • Traveling! I have been so lucky to have the opportunity to travel to many different states here in the U.S. and to Ireland and the Czech Republic. I have been lucky enough to experience many beautiful sights, amazing cultures, beautiful cities and country sides, and natural wonders. Through my travels I have learned so much about many different people in our world and so much about myself.
